IT'S ALL AROUND US \\

Kevin Blake is a composer, electronic music producer and visual artist from Limerick. Over the last decade Kevin has fully immersed himself in the Irish Music Scene, recording and touring with his Rock band ‘Private Underground Residence’, and playing electronic music gigs under his own name. Asides from performing himself, he is a renowned event organiser, and started a club-night called Electric Underground seven years ago. Through this, he has produced well over 100 events, bringing over some of the most cutting edge producers from labels such as Warp Records, Ninjatune and Raster Noton to play, whilst giving many young Irish producers a chance to share the stage with them. Two years ago, he decided to focus on improving his skills and learn some new ones, and enrolled for MMT. Here, he has had the opportunity to learn to produce video amongst other things, and his final project involves painting a view of inside the mind of someone with synaesthesia. Kevin is doing this through close communication between a group of people who have this, and is animating their perceived experience of his music for his grad show a/v composition.
