I HEAR A NEW WORLD \\
Anthony Wigglesworth is a Dublin born artist and musician. He studied music in the Newpark School of Music, before refining his instrument choice to that of classical guitar and continuing his studies at the Dublin School of guitar. A self-trained artist, Anthony hosts his own art exhibitions. His medium is ink on cartridge paper, rarely delving into the world of colour preferring the strict lines of black and white and all the shades of grey in between. He is inspired by geometric shapes and patterns. His work emphasis minute detail, whether it is a form from the natural world or an abstract work. His music is like his art, detailed and refined. If it is a piece of impressionist piano music, a piece for string quartet or even an electric guitar riff with distorted drums, the minute detail is ever present. Anthony is currently working on an album of contemporary piano music and preparing for an exhibition of artwork in June 2013. He is also completing a Masters in Music and Media Technologies at Trinity College Dublin.
“Impressions De La Mer” is an audio-visual composition by composer and artist Anthony Wigglesworth. The composition is inspired by impressionist music and art. The piece is comprised of three components. The first is the music element. This draws influence from impressionist’s composers, Debussy, Satie and Ravel. The second element is the artwork. This is an abstract ink drawing where the design is based on the musical element. The third element is the video. This will be composed using the artwork as the basis of the video and the music as the audio element. The final piece will combine these three elements to create the audio-visual composition “Impressions De La Mer”.
